Mac Daddy is a multi-user application that randomly pairs BC students to chat and meet up for dining hall lunches based on user criteria. It aims to reduce the waste resulting from BC’s à la carte meal plan and foster connections between students in different grades, encouraging students with excess dining dollars to treat those with less.

Mac Daddy anonymously pairs users based on their profile information and what they are looking for. They will be paired to chat, and if the conversation goes well, they may both choose to exchange profiles and become friends after a double-opt-in. As a safety precaution, the app only allows accounts to be created through verified BC email addresses, and will include reporting and blocking features.

The app uses Firebase authentication, storage, and verification, and was the winner of the Boston College Mobile App Showcase in December 2017.

Besst is a platform where users can make bets, wagering their friends’ support instead of money. The app is a social platform, where users’ newsfeeds are populated by the outcomes of their friends’ bets. Users can engage with their friends’ wins and losses, or pick sides and support them in ongoing bets.

As CTO, I have been managing the product development process for this app. Our CEO and product have both been featured in various publications, including Forbes, Chicago Inno, the Chicago Maroon, and Polsky.

Boston College's University Information System allows students to register for courses, view their exam schedules, and update their course selection. Unfortunately, the current system (pictured above in black) is rather difficult to read and navigate. NewUIS would be exactly what it sounds like: a new information system interface that allows students to do all of that from the comfort of their browsers and mobile devices. I'm pretty busy right now though, so all our team has so far is some backend code and the logo art on the left.
